Antibiotic Awareness Month: November 2024
Antimicrobial/Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites no longer respond to antimicrobial agents. As a result of this increase in resistance to drugs antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents become less effective and it becomes more difficult or impossible to treat infections.
This week (18.11.24 – 24.11.24), we are working to raise awareness of this issue, and increase general understanding of antimicrobial resistance. We encourage everyone to find some time to read about and better understand this issue and see what each of us can do to ensure that antibiotics stay as effective as possible.
